Guy Crabb

MSc Historic Building Conservation
Historic Building Consultant

Guy began working with Manorwood as a self-employed Historic Building Consultant in 2023, after a career in office/commercial design & build fit out. He holds an MSc in Historic Building Conservation, awarded with distinction by Kingston University London and is a Supporter Member of the Institute of Historic Building Conservation (IHBC).

He has many years of experience working in all manner of buildings, with design and main-contractor responsibilities, delivering complex projects via multiple specialist consultants and contractors. This has led to a fascination with the pathology of historic building fabric, construction and repair.

At Manorwood, Guy is responsible for researching building records, historic mapping and investigating physical evidence, to inform proposals for change and to support Heritage Statements and Statements of Significance when applying for alteration, redevelopment and change of use in historic buildings and settings.

Of additional, particular interest to Guy is the development of adaptive solutions that enable beneficial (re)use, whist also addressing energy conservation.
